FAQs: Target Kids' Quality Promise
Target Kids' Quality Promise
Policy effective date: September 2026
We put our heart into every piece of Target Kids clothing we make. That's why Target branded Kids apparel comes with our 365-day Kids' Quality Promise.
If your child outwears an eligible garment before they outgrow it, we'll refund the original purchase price, provided the item meets the terms of the Kids' Quality Promise.
It means an eligible garment experiences a quality or manufacturing issue through normal use within 365 days of purchase, before your child has outgrown it.
Examples may include:
- Excessive shrinkage or loss of shape after washing according to care label instructions
- Colour fading or colour running after washing according to care label instructions
- Broken stitching or seam failures
- Faulty zips, buttons, snaps or poppers
- Prints, embellishments or trims separating sooner than expected
- Fabric pulls, tears or holes that are not caused by accidental or deliberate damage
- Excessive wear or deterioration through normal use before the garment is outgrown
All claims are assessed individually by Target.
The Kids' Quality Promise applies to eligible Target branded kids apparel, up to size 16 purchased from:
- A Target Australia store
- target.com.au
- Target on kmart.com.au
The Kids' Quality Promise does not apply to:
- Socks
- Hosiery and tights
- Underwear
- Swimwear
- Footwear
- Accessories, including hats, bags, belts and hair accessories
- National brand and third-party branded apparel sold by Target
These exclusions apply only to the Kids' Quality Promise and do not affect any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Claims must be made within 365 days of the original purchase date.
