Target is honoured to be a National NAIDOC Week Poster Distributor, distributing the official National NAIDOC Week poster from our Target stores across Australia. 

NAIDOC Week 2026 marks a significant milestone, celebrating 50 Years of Deadly, recognising five decades of strength, resilience, culture and survival of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. The 2026 theme, "50 Years of Deadly", honours the achievements of the past, the strength of culture today, and the generations who continue to carry identity, knowledge and pride forward. 

As part of NAIDOC Week celebrations, the official artwork will be displayed in the windows of Target Deadly Stores, celebrating culture and community connection.  

Team Member Art Initiative

Each year, during NAIDOC Week we take the opportunity to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures by amplifying the stories of our Target team members. We invite team members to submit their artwork and stories to share what NAIDOC means to them personally, creating space for cultural expression, storytelling and connection across our business. 

In 2026, we received a strong and inspiring response from team members across the country. The winning artwork will be featured alongside the official National NAIDOC Week poster artwork across our Target Deadly Stores network during NAIDOC Week, recognising the creativity of our team and reinforcing our commitment to listening, learning and walking together.

Artwork Story: Past and Present

Past and Present celebrates all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and acknowledges the importance of NAIDOC over the past 50 years. The artwork honours both history and contemporary culture, reflecting strength, continuity, and pride. 

The dots in the background represent people, ancestors, Elders and communities, while the symbols depict meeting places where mob come together each year to celebrate NAIDOC. Together, these elements highlight connection, gathering and the sharing of knowledge across generations.
