Caroline Graham And Kylie Stevenson
Paperback
Allen & Unwin

A dying town a missing man his missing dog a deadly landscape. Alcohol. Enemies. Sinkholes. And a setting so tiny and remote that it seemed tantalisingly contained. Like an outback Agatha Christie. Then under the heat of the media spotlight the story grew. The whole thing became mythic. Bigger than the truth. Or at least bigger than a truth. Full name: Patrick (Paddy) Moriarty. Approximately 178 centimetres tall. Black and grey hair. Age seventy. Last sighted at dusk on Saturday 16 December 2017. Full name: Larrimah. 500kms from Darwin halfway between Mataranka and Daly Waters. Twelve-well now eleven-residents. A pub. Seventeen tins of (mostly) asparagus. Larrimah is a story that has everything: murder a ghost town a crocodile with no eyes a drug lord a long-running civil war a comparatively short World War and a great-grandmother with a penchant for yelling f-bombs at tourists who complain about the price of her stale scones and camel pies. But more than anything it's a story about the kind of people who work tirelessly to preserve the region's impressive history and restore its buildings all while arguing over who fed the pet peacocks to the town crocodile. With razor-sharp wit masterful storytelling and stunning revelations Kylie Stevenson and Caroline Graham investigate a small town's dark and captivating narrative while also exploring the role the Australian landscape and history plays within it. What the hell happened to Paddy? And what the hell happened to Larrimah? One of Australia's greatest mysteries-two whodunnits twisted together.
