National NAIDOC Week 2025

For the third consecutive year Target is honoured to support the poster distribution of the National NAIDOC Week poster from all stores across Australia.

This year’s NAIDOC Week marks a powerful milestone of 50 years in honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience. The 2025 theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our Ancestors. National NAIDOC Week 2025 will be held from Sunday 6 July to Sunday the 13 July 2025.

National NAIDOC Week Posters

This year's National NAIDOC Week Poster features artwork by Jeremy Worral, a proud Ngarbal/Gomeroii from Emmaville Deepwater NSW. The design is called Ancestral Lines and is a visual representation of the lines and ties that follow a generation and the songs that come with it.

Jeremy shares “When I think of the next generation I think towards my Ancestor Lucy Wright, Enoch Wright, Nonie Wright, all the way from my Nanna Audrie to my Mother Vanessa. When I look back at my mob it helps me see towards the future, it gives me hope and strength knowing what my mob have survived through and accomplished amid adversity. Each person in the painting depicts a series of lines akin to songlines, that represent what they know, who they were and what they have passed on, the First being that of lore (interpretive), hunting, protecting, and tracking, the second of care, weaving, fishing, and love. The third is when we see the two combine into one, and the last two take unfinished elements of them all, to show the passing down of knowledge and care. Above them is the essence of the land they live and protect/ care for. It is a depiction of my home the cold skies of Tenterfield with the swirling clouds and giant moon, a place around the fire is where the next Generation find their strength, vision and legacy”

Our commitment to celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Culture, history and Peoples will see the National NAIDOC Week Posters distributed to customers from all Target, Kmart and K hub stores across the Country from the 16th June 2025.

Team Member Art Initiative

The 2025 Target team member art initiative continued as a key element of our celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Culture with team members submitting their designs and story to share what NAIDOC means to them.

In the third year of our team member NAIDOC Week Art initiative, we had some amazing submissions from our First Nations team members.

To celebrate NAIDOC and our ongoing support of First Nations Culture the Target Deadly Stores will feature window displays of the Official NAIDOC Week poster artwork, alongside our very own team member artwork and story.

This year we celebrate Cameron, now a two-time winner, Cameron’s digital piece “Steps Forward” reflects his vision as a young Gubbi Gubbi leader.

His work shows the footprints of Ancestors guiding future generations, with strong symbols of community, strength, and connection.

Cameron hopes to inspire other young First Nations Peoples to embrace their culture and carry its legacy forward with pride and purpose.
