I would like to submit my application for a customer service position in one of your stores, how do I do this?

I have submitted an expression of interest on your website, how long would my application be kept for?
Your application will be kept on the database for 12 months and will be considered for any positions that match the preferences you have indicated on your application.
Can I find out on the progress of my application for a customer service position?
If you have applied for a customer service position and you have the experience and have indicated the preferences for shift patterns that match our vacancy, you will be contacted to attend an interview. If you do not hear from us it means we have received a large amount of applications and we do not currently have an opportunity at this time. However, we now have a centralised database that will keep your details on file for any future roles. If you have not had a response in 3 months or more and you are still interested in being considered for a position, you are welcome to review your preferences by logging into your candidate profile and amending your details.
I would like to submit my application for a Management position in one of your stores how do I do this?
Normally we advertise our Store Management vacancies individually on our website. If there are not any suitable positions available, we also have an expressions of interest where you can upload your information and we will contact you should there be any suitable opportunities. Alternatively, there is an opportunity for you to register for Job Alerts and when a position is advertised, you will be notified immediately and then you can apply to that specific vacancy.
Can I find out on the progress of my application for a Management position?
If you have applied for a specific advertised position, we will be in contact with you once your application has been reviewed. If your application has been made to the expressions of interest position, we will be in contact with you when a suitable position arises as your details are kept on our database.
What is your selection process?
Advertised positions are displayed on our website. Once an application has been received, you may be phoned to attend a face-to-face interview, and depending on the position, you may be called back for a second interview. Prior to any offers of employment at Target, reference checks are carried out and possibly a medical examination and any other back ground checks required for the role. For roles in the Store Support Office, some of the roles will require you to undertake some psychometric or role related testing and details will be provided to you by the recruiter working with you on the position.
Do I have to be an Australian Citizen to gain employment at Target?
If you are not an Australian or New Zealand permanent resident or citizen, you will need to provide proof of your residency status (Visa and Passport) if you are successful through the interview process. Once your work right status has been confirmed through the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, Target may be able to roster you appropriately in line with the working conditions on your Visa type.
What is the minimum age to be considered for employment at Target?
The Child Employment Legislation outlines the conditions and minimum age individuals can be considered for employment. This varies by State. For further information please contact the relevant government body for the legislative requirement in your area.
I am currently working as a part of the Wesfarmers Group but I would like to transfer to a Target store, what do I need to do?
If you are a current Wesfarmers team member, Target supports transfers to our business and the process needs to be transparent so please ensure you contact your line manager for details. If you are a current Target team member we will support transfers from one store location to another. Please ensure you speak with your line manager before you apply for a transfer.
