Wash in warm soapy water before first use.
Cast iron cookware is suitable for all stovetops as well as conventional oven use up to 200°C.
Best results are achieved on a low to medium heat setting, always bring cast iron cookware up to cooking temperature slowly. If cast iron is heated up too quickly, the cast iron can expand faster than the enamel coating which can result in the enamel cracking.
For optimum energy efficiency, use the stovetop element that best matches the size of the casserole.Care should be taken when moving cast iron cookware across ceramic stove tops (do not slide).
Always use oven gloves when lifting a hot pan from the stovetop or oven.
Use only nylon or wooden utensils and do not cut inside the pan.
Never place hot cookware in cold water as this can damage the enamel.
It is recommended to hand dry cast iron cookware thoroughly before storing.
The rim of cast iron cookware is not covered with enamel, if surface rust appears on the rim it is easily removed by washing with a mild detergent and gently scrubbing with a nylon scourer. Once rim is dry, apply a light coating of vegetable oil to the rim to seal it, wipe off excess oil before storing.
