Erica Deluchi

Erica Deluchi is an emerging fashion designer who graduated with a Bachelor of Design in Fashion and Textiles (Honours), at the University of Technology, Sydney in October 2014. Exploration through layering and opacities has been an ongoing theme throughout Erica’s practice, as an exploration into conceiving the relationships between different fabrications and pattern techniques that involves reinterpreting classical or traditional aspects of clothing in the design process. Architecture has always been a strong reference point.

Collection rational:

With a sensibility towards the tactility and behavior of fabrications, Erica’s design process is influenced, first and foremost, by the qualities of materials. Holonymy is underpinned by masculinity, function and practicality, which are echoed through these choices. Made predominately from linen, leather and waxed cotton, the collection brings together the rakish charm of linen’s incessant creasing tendencies, the luxurious smell of calf leather and the imperfect texture of Australia Oilskin whilst breathing in the redolence of the outdoors through its strong scent.
