Edwina Sinclair is an Australian designer with a love for playful designs. After the development of her latest collection ‘POP’, done in her final year of a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Fashion) at the Queensland University of Technology, Edwina has a new found appreciation for artisanal garments. Edwina won the ‘Vaughan Award,’ given to one student from the studio design class of QUT for 2013. The award is chosen by Professor Suzi Vaughan, who established the QUT BFA (Fashion) course and currently Deputy Vice Chancellor of teaching and learning.
The garments reflect a unique sense of craftsmanship and showcase the designer’s heavy involvement in the fabric and texture creation. Edwina plans to continue creating one-off pieces as well as her more saleable range, Soot. Her intention is to create garments that when worn, bring an inevitable smile and a touch of voila.
