‘RESIST & EXIST’ is conceptually based around dress practice within North Korea. It is an enquiry into an isolated society that has not experienced modernity in the Western sense, and still relies heavily on propagandic representations of hypermasculinity, militarism and uniform. This collection is a hard, precise and linear collection communicating a somewhat desolate and ominous mood. A utilitarian colour way with colour injection hits throughout shows confidence, a good understanding of the significance of form, as the beautifully structured silhouettes echo utilitarianism and uniform concept.
