There's a burgeoning trend right now for matte complexions. Not to be mistaken for our high school days, when we powdered away even the tiniest hint of shine; the modern kind of matte is velvety, shine-free and anything but flat. And L'Oreal Paris' new Infallible range is your ticket to mastering the trend at home. Boasting 24-hour coverage that combines extreme hold and absolute comfort, this cult new range will be your new best friend. To get the look, arm yourself with our go-to tips below.
Prepare Your Canvas
Often what your put on your face before makeup determines just how good your skin looks and feels. Before you lather on the foundation, cleanse, tone and moisturise your skin. Ideally, you want a blank canvas to work with. Then, apply a matte primer over your T-zone to give extra mattifying protection in that area, as it's the oiliest spot on your face.
Less Is More
You don't need to lather the matte foundation all over your face. Use your fingertips to apply the product over red areas, pimples, and to even out your skin tone where necessary. Start applying the foundation to the middle of your face (your nose), and then use a flat foundation brush to gradually blend it to the outer edges.
Concealer After Foundation
Opt for a concealer that it close to your skin tone, or one shade lighter. If you apply concealer after foundation you will actually use less product.
Always Finish With Powder
Using a fluffy powder brush, complete your beauty base with a dust of matte powder.
