How do I apply to become a Team Member in a Target store?
We are always looking for passionate Team Members to work in our stores. We would love to receive your Join A Store Team application by completing the online application form. You can also apply direct for roles by searching our Current Opportunities.
How long will my Join A Store Team application be active for?
Join A Store Team applications will be kept active for one month to ensure Target is always recruiting people who are actively looking to become Team Members. After one month, all Join A Store Team candidates will receive an email invitation to update their application to ensure it remains current.
How do I find out about the progress of my Join A Store Team application?
When store Team Member positions become available, candidates’ shift preference and experience are matched with the vacancy. Candidates are then contacted to attend an interview. Some stores may only recruit new Team Members a couple of times a year, so there may not be a current vacancy for the stores you have selected to work in. To be in the running for future opportunities, make sure you keep your Join A Store Team application current by updating your application each month. Go to LOGIN – existing candidates to ensure your Join A Store Team application is current.
How do I apply to Lead A Store Team at Target?
We are always looking for talented Store Managers, Customer Service Managers, Department Managers and Store Support Managers. Our current store management opportunities are individually advertised on our Target Careers website, where you can search under Current Opportunities. If there are no current opportunities in your area we would still love to hear from you! Please complete an expression of interest at Lead A Store Team and we will contact you when future opportunities come up.
How can I find out about the progress of my Lead A Store Team application?
If you have applied for a specific advertised opportunity, the Target Recruitment Team will be in contact after they have looked over your application. If you have applied through the Lead A Store Team expression of interest, the Target Recruitment Team will be in contact with you when a position matches your experience and location.
What is the selection process at Target?
Target is committed to hiring the best Team Members regardless of gender, age, ethnic background or sexual orientation. The selection process for new Target Team Members may include phone interviews, group interviews, face-to-face interviews and reference checks. Some Team Member roles in our Store Support Office may require additional testing. If you have any questions about the recruitment process at any stage, the Target Recruitment Team will be happy to answer your queries.
Do I have to be an Australian Citizen to work at Target?
Target recruits Team Members from a variety of backgrounds, but all Team Members must be eligible to work in Australia under Commonwealth and State Laws. Successful applications who are not Australian or New Zealand citizens or permanent resident will need to provide proof of residency or visa status, and will be rostered in line with the working conditions of their Visa type. I currently work for a Wesfarmers Group company and would like to transfer to Target, what should I do?
We are always looking for talented retailers to join the Target Team! To ensure any transfer process is transparent, the first step is to contact your current Line Manager or your HR Team. You can then apply for any roles through the Target Careers website.
