We have over 290 Target and Target Country stores across Australia and we believe in building local communities through our safe happy family strategy. Target supports it's communities through its regional donations program.

Guidelines for the regional donations program

Spirit of Science in 2005, a scholarship program called Spirit of Science was established. The program enables 10 young people from South Australia to attend a science forum in London. Each year a group of youth who show a passion for science and demonstrate exemplary communication, social and leadership skills are chosen to participate in the scholarship program. Target is proud to sponsor these students by providing them with luggage and gift cards which enables them to purchase clothing for their trip.

Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal - Each January Target donate $15,000 of gift cards to the Rural Education Program. This program provides assistance for children in rural areas though the FRRR Back to School Program.

Many of our team members fundraise for local and national causes that are important to them.

Bear Cottage - Some NSW Target and Target County store team members do an amazing job supporting Bear Cottage, the first children's hospice in NSW which provides specialist round the clock medical care enabling families with a sick child to enjoy a holiday together.Team members raise funds through raffles, chocolate drives and special events. To date they have raised over $23,000.

Westpac Helicopters - Another group of Target & Target Country stores in NSW combined their efforts raising $3,741 in one month for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. This service is a community owned and operated aeromedical search and rescue service. It serves the Hunter, Central Coast, Mid North Coast, New England and North West regions of New South Wales

Camp Quality - Our Target & Target Country stores in District 11 have adopted Camp Quality as their preferred charity. In November 2009, the team members from Target Shellharbour supported the Camp Quality Convoy for Kids raising $536. District 11 has now raised $7207 for Camp Quality since July 2009.

Local communities - Geelong
Target originated in Geelong Victoria and Geelong is home to the Target national support office which proudly partners of a number of local organisations in the region.

We are able to provide the following community groups with much needed donations of clothing, shoes, toys and homewares that are then given directly to those in most need in the community.

Workplace Giving

United Way Geelong - we support United Way Geelong through our workplace giving program where team members can donate to United Way which supports over 70 community organisations in the Geelong region. To thank our team members for their generosity, Target matches their dollar donation.
